The purpose of this booklet is to provide guidance to the engineering professionals who are seeking registration as an EMF Engineer.

1. Any candidate who applies for registration as EMF International Register must satisfy the following criteria:

1. A Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and/or a Corporate Member with the Institution of Engineers Malaysia.
2. Seven years experience after graduation in a recognised engineering discipline.
3. Two years experience in responsible charge of significant work (may be obtained within the seven years experience)
4. Maintained their continuing professional development at a satisfactory level.

1. Application shall be made in the form to be obtained from http://www.iem.org.my together with the recent curriculum vitae in the required format.

2. On approval of the application, the candidate to pay a registration fee of RM 200.00 within one month of the date of notification of such approval.

 

The engineering disciplines currently recognised for the purpose of the EMF International Register are:-

Structural
Mechanical
Electrical
Electronic
Electrical & Mechanical
Mining
Chemical
Marine
Aeronautical
Agricultural
Nuclear

The list may be expanded.

Any professional engineers registered with the EMF International Register may be subject to random audit of their current curriculum vitae and records of continuing professional development over the immediate past three years period by an assessor or assessors appointed by the Board.
