Invitation to be Qualified Person under Water Services Industry Act (WSIA) 2006
In line with section 47 of the Water Services Industry Act 2006 [Act 655] which came into force on 1st January 2008, only a qualified person who is recognized by the Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) under Act 655 can certify or issue a Certificate of Compliance for any water suppy system or sewerage system or part of the systems within a new development.
In this regard, all Professional Engineers and Architects who carry out consultancy works in any consulting firm or as independent consultant and wish to be recognized by SPAN as Qualified Person under Act 655 are kindly requested to submit their particulars to SPAN. The forms are available at SPAN headquarters or can be downloaded via SPAN's website www.span.gov.my
Recognition of 'Qualified Person' takes effect on 1st January 2009.
